Fun Time, Including the Best Apps for iPad!

Lately, we've been talking with our kids about what is fun, the kind of fun that meets with our approval-our not too stringent approval! Among things like playing outside, sports, reading, and television, there has been an on-going discussion about computers and apps. We looked into theandroid apps, for instance, and also some best apps for iPad for our phone that they can use, with out permission. After our research, we talked about what meets our criteria of acceptability. Of course, we want our kids to be as proficient as possible in all things related to normal technology use–the cutting edge of it, as much as is appropriate for kids 10 and 11 years old, that is. At the same time, we want to make sure they don't waste time doing uninteresting things. So we've gotten some parameters set and they seem comfortable with them. That being handled, we certainly do promote getting outside and playing, whether it's informal playing around or proper sports. We want our kids to be as balanced as possible and to get plenty of exercise. As much as we want those little fingers nimble at any keyboard, we also want those arms and legs well-exercised and nimble…not to mention we want our kids to enjoy the spirit of team sports and the feel of freedom in running and playing.
